ESBE POLAND ATTENDED THE 11TH PORT PC CONGRESS

2023-06-26

Heat pumps in a prosumer energy were the main topic of the 11th Congress of the Polish Organization for the Development of Heat Pump Technology (PORT PC). It took place on June 21, 2023 in Krakow (Poland), and was the most important event in the Polish heat pump industry in this year.

As every year, the 11th PORT PC Congress attracted many manufacturers, the heat pump industry experts and important government officials to Krakow. They presented modern solutions, discussed the current market situation and the opportunities for raising consumer awareness. Among guests and speakers were e.g. Laura Cozzi of IEA, Jan Rosenow of The Regulatory Assistance Project, Marek Miara of Heat Pumps at Fraunhofer ISE, and Malgorzata Smuczynska, PhD, the Regional Sales Director – Region East and the Managing Director of ESBE, the Vice President of PORT PC and a member of the EHPA Board.

During her first presentation, Malgorzata Smuczynska, PhD introduced the participants to the possibilities of supporting the heat pump technology development, presenting excerpts from the latest EHPA report and examples of activities in selected European countries. One of the most important points of her presentation, was the announcement of the implementation of the EU Heat Pump Accelerator, which is a plan of accelerating the installation of devices in Europe and achieving the REPowerEU strategy goals and, as a result, becoming independent of Russian gas. In turn, the topic of the second speech of our representative was the revision and planned changes of the EPBD Directive on energy efficiency of buildings. Malgorzata Smuczynska, PhD also participated in a debate that was the final point of the session. The debate was about development prospects for the Polish heat pump market.

- It is important to remember that it is impossible to meet current buildings' energy efficiency requirements without using energy-saving technologies and modern heating installations such as installations with heat pumps, recovery, photovoltaics and energy storages – highlights Malgorzata Smuczynska, PhD from ESBE Poland. – This year's congress brought many interesting conclusions that we need to keep in mind when we are developing ESBE’s product portfolio. Many of our products are already perfectly suited to the needs of the RES (renewable energy sources) sector, such as the latest diverting valves from the SLX platform (e.g. SLD130), which are successfully used in heat pumps by leading European manufacturers of heat pumps. Heat pump installers like our VZD/VZC diverting valves series too, MBA130 series, ZRS230 series and VRG mixing valves series with ARA600 actuators, as well as VTA thermostatic valves series and circulation units. Increasingly popular are fresh hydro units of the FSK series, which are perfectly suited to the needs of larger investments with heat pumps usually installed in cascade systems. Such systems require a large heating capacity with a small demand for hot water, making it unnecessary to install hot water storage tanks, saving money, time and simply the space required for their installation – wrapped-up Managing Director of ESBE Poland.

The 11th PC Congress was another important event that was attended by ESBE company. We keep our eye on the current situation at the European and worldwide heat pump market. We are developing energy-efficient solutions for heating, cooling and DHW systems. In the nearby future we are planning to participate more industry events in Poland and throughout Europe.
